The Saffron Walden Community Shed (SWCS) is part of a national group of sheds supported by the UK Men's Shed Association. It's aim is to bring together both men and women (despite the name) who enjoy working in sheds, doing odd jobs of any description and spending time together.
We are a small group of local people that have set up a workshop where people can meet socially and work together on small practical projects, mending, making, or pursue crafts and hobbies. Our shed is principally aimed at those who are retired, unemployed or are unwell, have time to spare and are looking for somewhere to meet and make friends.
Our Site Manager, Gordon Goldie arranged with John Haigh from Saffron Walden Community Shed to collect a number of the packing materials, such as pallets, sheets of plywood and lengths of timber.
The timber will be used by members of the group on various projects they are working on. Altogether, John collected 14 pallets, 6 sheets of plywood and 10 lengths of timber. We are all delighted, this timber is being able to be reused elsewhere locally.
If you have can use for the excess timber and are able to collect it from site, please get in touch with us, email us terriersfarm@lowcarbon.com.
